Zelda Kliofem

If you have taken more Kliofem ® than you should, talk to a doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. Taking more estrogens than prescribed by your doctor can cause breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting and / or irregular vaginal bleeding (metrorrhagia). Taking more progestagens than prescribed by your doctor may lead to depressive mood, fatigue, acne and growth of body or facial hair (hirsutism).

The risk of getting a stroke is 1.5 times higher in HRT users than in non-users. The number of extra cases of HRT will increase with age.

Women with pre-existing hypertriglyceridaemia should be followed by estrogen replacement therapy or hormone replacement therapy, since rare cases of large increases in plasma triglycerides have been reported with estrogen therapy in this condition..

Oestrogens may cause fluid retention, and therefore patients with cardiac or renal dysfunction should be carefully observed.

Kliofem relieves menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, sleeping difficulties, dryness of the mucous membranes and osteoporosis. It is usually used to treat women who have had a hysterectomy and who have had their ovaries removed. The added ingredient in Kliofem, norethisterone, protects the lining of the uterus from side effects.

Kliofem tablets contain two active ingredients, estradiol (previously spelt estradiol in the UK) and norethisterone acetate. These are forms of the female sex hormone, estrogen and progesterone. Estradiol is a naturally occuring form of estrogen and norethisterone is a synthetic form of progesterone.

If you think you have a side effect of a medicine you should check the patient information leaflet. This lists the known side effects and what to do if you get them. You can also get advice from your doctor, nurse or pharmacist. If they think it's necessary they'll report it for you.

Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.

It is important to know your doctor or pharmacist what medicines you are already taking, including those with a prescription and herbal medicines, before you start this treatment. Similarly, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any new medicines while taking this one, to make sure that the combination is safe.

I have had a lot of things to do, I felt a bit crampy at the beginning. I'm a little bit at the moment, a bit of jaw clenching going on butt that's probably just in line with a few things being thrown at me at the moment. I am exhausted though, maybe my body is just trying to catch up on lost sleep !! And the flushes, I think they'd gone by Day 8. I had a couple of occasions when I would have been overhearing, but it was really weird, it started and then cut out.

Polly. I do not want to go on anything but I do not know how to do it. Purpose I am very interested in how HRT works for other women.

If taken alongside Kliofem, a few medicines may cause irregular bleeds (in particular treatments for epilepsy, tuberculosis and HIV, and products containing St John's Wort). Kliofem's effect may be increased with ketoconazole, and cyclosporine's effect and blood test may be altered by Kliofem.

Breast tenderness or vaginal bread bleeding are very common side effects. Commonly, women report breast swelling, vaginal inflammation / infection, womb fibroids, weight gain, headache / migraine, depression, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and leg cramps. Occasionally, there may be bloating vein inflammation, acne, itching, allergic reactions, and hair loss / abnormal growth. Rarely or very rare side effects, such as leg / lung blood clots, womb changes, blood pressure increases, heart attack, stroke, and gallbladder disorders. Additional, dizziness, insomnia, vomiting, vaginal / genital itching, and altered sexual desire have been noted.

As with all HRT, some disorders prevent women from taking Kliofem. These are breast, endometrial or other estrogen-sensitive cancer, an unusually thick womb lining, bleeding from the vagina, disorders of the blood leading blood vessels (leading to thromboembolism, stroke or heart attack) or porphyria, liver abnormalities, or you are allergic to the products in Kliofem. Some disorders are exacerbated or come back if you take Kliofem, including womb disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, fluid retention, kidney / liver problems, high blood fat (triglycerides) levels, gallstones, asthma, severe headache / migraine, epilepsy, and disease of the ear (otosclerosis) or immune system (systemic lupus erythematosus). You could also be at risk of blood clots and estrogen-dependent cancer.

Many women experience certain symptoms after the menopause, particularly hot flushes of the face, neck, and chest, dry / itchy vagina, irregular periods, insomnia, night-time sweats, and mood changes. These symptoms are a result of the ovaries producing less than the hormone estrogen. Additionally, estrogen prevents bone loss (osteoporosis), which leads to weakened bones and fractures. Kliofem replaces (hence the term HRT) the short-fall of estrogen in the body, thus minimizing the risk of menopausal symptoms and osteoporosis.

oestrogen-progestagen HRT is more likely to develop than HRT. Stroke The risk of getting stroke is 1.5 times higher in HRT users than in non-users. The number of extra cases of HRT will increase with age. Compare Looking at women in their 50s who are not taking HRT, on average, 8 in 1,000 would be expected to have a stroke over a 5-year period. For women in their 50s who are taking HRT, there will be 11 slots in 1,000 users over 5 years (i.e. year extra 3 boxes). Other conditions HRT will not prevent memory loss. There is some evidence of HRT after the age of 65. Speak to your doctor for advice.

Cancer of the lining of the womb (endometrial cancer) Taking oestrogen-only HRT will increase the risk of excessive thickening of the womb (endometrial hyperplasia) and cancer of the womb lining (endometrial cancer). The progestagen in Kliofem® protects you from this extra risk. Compare Women who are not taking HRT, on average, 5 in 1,000 will be diagnosed with endometrial cancer between the ages of 50 and 65. For women aged 50 to 65 who still have a womb and who will take estrogen -only HRT, between 10 and 60 women in 1,000 will be diagnosed with endometrial cancer (ie between 5 and 55 extra cases), depending on the dose and for how long it is taken.

grandmother who has had breast cancer) high blood pressure a liver disorder, such as has benign liver tumor diabetes gallstones migraine or severe headaches a disease of the immune system that affects many organs of the body (systemic lupus erythematosus, SLE) epilepsy asthma a disease affecting the eardrum and hearing (otosclerosis) a very high level of fat in your blood (triglycerides) fluid retention due to cardiac or kidney problems if you are taking medicine for an underactive thyroid gland your doctor will perform tests while you are taking HRT to ensure.

You should stop and have the following symptoms: unusually severe or frequent headache, sudden visual disturbance, inflamed veins, pain in the chest, breathlessness, bread on the chest.

Kliofem has little effect on blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure before starting If you develop high blood pressure Kliofem, you should stop taking the tablets.

In your collective experience do you think the bleeding is connected to the cysts / fibroids? Would another HRT be better for me? Is there anything I'd be asking this chap on Thursday?

It took a couple of weeks for them to start working. Then I felt great! No hot flushes, a full night's sleep, even-tempered (well, for me), far fewer aches and breads, no migraines and I stopped gaining weight (did not lose any) Terrific!

I do not want to go to the road of having a hysterectomy. I'm a full-time Carer for my mum and far so for my husband. Also, a very close friend had the operation go horribly wrong and she now wears a colostmy bag.
